Garter Snake Neonate in Tree I. Summer 2022, intaglio drypoint etching on white paper. 8"×10". Edition of 5.

Installation at the Tinker Homestead for the Tinker Art and Garden Party Show that was on June 25th.

A young garter snake, a neonate, is seen winding in and out of the bark of the tree. Hidden within the cracks, the small head peaks out toward the bottom of the image, while the tail disappears past the top edge of the frame. The bark looks cracked, and spreads out from deeper folds. This image was created from a photo of a snake taken at a large oak tree near the entrance of Tinker Nature park, connected to the Hanson Center. The print has the appearance of a pen drawing, and is printed with dark blue-black ink on white paper.
